When You Are Fearful Because of the Headlines

Terror. Fear. Violence. Hate. Pain. Suffering. Injustice.

These are common words in our vocabulary these days.

It feels like every single day there is another “breaking news” story.

It’s so easy to join in with those who believe it’s just all downhill from here.

BUT THEN I READ THIS:

Isaiah 2

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house

will be the highest of all—

the most important place on earth.

It will be raised above the other hills,

and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.

People from many nations will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

to the house of Jacob’s God.

There he will teach us his ways,

and we will walk in his paths.”

For the Lord’s teaching will go out from Zion;

his word will go out from Jerusalem.

The Lord will mediate between nations

   and will settle international disputes.

They will hammer their swords into plowshares

and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will no longer fight against nation,

   nor train for war anymore.

Did you read that? If not, go back and read it.

It’s incredible. Those promises. That hope!

If there ever was a time to be engaged in what God is doing through the CHURCH, it is now.

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house

will be the highest of all — the most important place on earth.

That sounds like something I want to be a part of.

Forget Pokemon Go.

Give me a spot at the most important place on earth.

See, we have HOPE. This isn’t how it will always be.

The Lord will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes.

Someone shout GLORY!!

Maybe you’ve been hurt by church (which is actually saying you have been hurt by people). I get it. So have I. Almost all of us have. So let’s move on. No need to form a club. It’d be too big to be a useful club anyway.

Maybe you think the church has it all wrong. Some things they do have wrong.

But I bet you have some things wrong, too. We all do.

THE CHURCH will not go away. IT’S WHO Jesus is coming back for.

It’s why we keep on keepin’ on. Even though at times it feels a little like most are playing church. But we keep on. Because it’s THE HOPE of the world. There is no other ending. Just the CHURCH and JESUS.

Now is the time to be a part of the greatest gathering to come.

Be encouraged. The wars will end. Peace will come and JESUS will reign.
