A Few of My Favorite Things

Most of us are longing for spring, a touch of warmth in the air and birds chirping as we wake up in the morning. February fever was real for me this year. March is that month where, at least if you live in the Midwest, you are easily deceived one day into thinking warmer weather has moved in, only to realize the next day, there’s a snowstorm on the horizon. To cheer us all up a bit I thought I would share with you a few of my favorite everyday things. Each one of these are items I use almost daily. Sometimes it’s the smallest, very affordable things that make life a bit more special.

I also love finding products that actually work well.

Method

Method Cleaning Products and ePantry

I especially love the Method Daily Granite cleaner. I’ve had granite counters for a few years and this is the first daily use granite spray I have found that doesn’t leave a filmy residue.

The Wood for Good Daily Clean is also amazing. I spray it on a rag and dust all of my wood furniture. I use almost daily on my wood dining table.

A easily cleaned home is delightful in my world.

I love using ePantry to keep my home supplies stocked. It’s a monthly shipment with a very friendly email reminder to check you order before it ships. So handy.

Mrs. Meyers

Mrs. Meyers Clean Day

On another cleaning note, I just love Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Dish Soap and Hand Soap. Of all of the items in my home, this is the one guests comment on the most. I always have the Dish Soap on my kitchen counter and the Hand Soap in my bathrooms. Their standard scents are great, my favorite being Basil. Their seasonal scents are something special and make it easy to add a slice of that season to your home, whether it’s Christmas with their Cranberry scent, or Spring with the Bluebell scent.

I add Mrs. Meyer Clean Day soaps to my ePantry shipment, but they can also be found in many stores. They are a bit more pricey than some liquid soaps, but I have found they last a long time.

Oil

Hopewell Essential Oils (my favorites from them)

No Bites Bug Spray/Repellant  – this is a fantastic natural way to keep the bugs at bay. It smells great, too. I use this on my kids for those outdoor summer nights when the bugs feast on their sweetness. It’s natural and smells great. Nothing yucky going into their bloodstream when you spray this repellant on their skin. Hopewell Essential Oil No Bites Spray

Citrus Blessing Essential Oil Blend – this delightful smelling EO is the perfect oil to diffuse in your kitchen. It’s fresh and citrusy and sweet all at the same time. It’s uplifting and air purifying. It’s a blend of Wild Orange, Tangerine , Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, Spearmint.

I also use this on a wet paper towel to wipe down my counters to give my kitchen fresh, clean smell. Hopewell Citrus Blessing Essential Oil

Burts Bees

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer, Lip Balm and Cuticle Cream

I love, love, love these three products. The Lip Shimmer and Lip Balm I keep in my purse, car, kitchen drawer, coat pocket, you name it, I have one close by. My go to lip color for daily use.

New to my nails and cuticles this year is the Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream. You guys, this stuff is amazing. I have terribly dry hands and cuticles in the winter. I used this every single day this winter and it made a big difference. I love this cuticle cream. Did I mention it smells so good, too?

Root Pretty

Root Pretty Organic Coconut Sugar Scrub and Beauty Sleep Perfecting Serum

I swoon. These two products? LOVE! I had heard about Root Pretty a while back but didn’t try it out until about six months ago. I was looking to change up some of my skin care regimne and wanted all natural products. A friend suggested I try Root Pretty and here we are. I haven’t tried all of their products, but of the ones I have used, these two are at the top of my list. Let me tell you why.

The Sugar Scrub, it is so natural you can actually use it to exfoliate your lips and it doesn’t matter if you lick it off. It’s sugar. Yum. It does wonders for exfoliating and polishing your body. It’s so versatile. You can use in on your face, hands, and entire body.

The Beauty Sleep Serum is amazing. I use it almost every night before I go to bed. Again, I have a terrible time with dry skin, even on my face, in the winter. This has eliminated that. It also helps with acne. It can be used underneath make up, too. I feel like it’s a magic oil. I just love it. Thank you, Root Pretty. You can also find them on Instagram @rootpretty for great make up and skin care tutorials.

That’s all for now. Hope if you try any of these they make the last few weeks of winter a little less blue.

xoxo, Heather
